Seattle souvenir 1

I met Ken in Green Tortoise hostel in Seattle. He was the one always sitting in the lounge by himself drawing all day long. I don't know if he saw any of the city, but his inspiration seemed to keep him drawing for hours. He showed me his multiple ink pens all with different tip diameters. One was as tiny as a mosquito nose (0.03) I was amazed when I found out that Ken is a Los Angeles resident!!! Like many independent artists in LA Ken lives in a warehouse Downtown LA. So far he feels pretty comfortable living in Seattle and does not know when he will be able to return home.

Antarctic Constellations

A team of 4 artists headed by Lita Albuquerque
+one scientist (Simon P. Balm) went on a trip to Antarctica to create a scientifically precise mirror reflection of the stars above that certain locaion in Antarctica. A fantastic adventure turned into a movie by Sophie Dia Pegrum (Bristol - Los Angeles) will be shown around the world. Bold, bizarre and full of mysterious beauty.

Body Knots

I enter this second-hand bookstore they just opened on Melrose and Heliotrope. Books on the floor. A guy drilling holes in some shelf. Clouds of dust. I am sneezing. Among shelves of obscure literature a book by Howard Schatz BODY KNOTS.

Maria full of Grace

A movie by Joshua Marston Maria Full of Grace with Catalina Sabdino Moreno is touching disturbing beautiful and tragic. Fascinating actors' work. A story feels absolutely real.
The part shot in Colombia shows the grey everyday life of provincial Colombians with their toils and hardships, romances that soon end with a pregnancy and family disputes. Life full of preoccupation over financial problems and worries of how to raise kids. To the eye of an average American this life might seem filthy and scary. It seems to be a life without a meaning because there are no place for expensive cars or designer clothes. People work, date, marry, give birth to kids, celebrate birthdays, and national holidays, get drunk, have fights.
