This is an artwork by Carina Karlsson from Bristol Virginia. Or not exactly so. In fact Carina is the one finishing the necklace started by someone else. It is one of the projects that involves collaboration of artists. So Carina is the one to add the final touch (which actually changed the whole look of the piece). Among other things Carina added is a pendant - a humming bird in a shell. What is the shell made of? It is constructed of tiny wires wrapped in ... a piece of animal intestine! covered with pearly polish. Other little things she added are a metal bee and a butterfly wing caught between two pieces of tape. All the materials are bought or found. Carina showed me the last thing she got. It was a bracelet with little metal things attached to it. Each metal thing represented a rule from the Christian 10 Commandments. Check out Carina's blog to see her other charming creations.

A theatre in a window shop in Portland street. It was raining, but there was a big crowd anyway. They had speakers outside which projected different bird sounds. A very smart way to integrate art and the city.
